GALLERY 14
Gallery 14 features images from the Detroit Gold Cup Hydroplane races. The Gold Cup is the oldest motorsport racing event in the counry. Unlimited Hydroplanes reach speeds of over 200 mph on the straights and shoot huge roostertails many stories high on the turns. Grand National class, vintage boats, offshore boats and Jersey Skiffs were all racing. The yellow Miss Detroit is shown in roostertail turn with spoiler and fins coming off, and the boat going airborne. Later pictures show the Elstrom Team win, and the destruction of the red U1 boat after a dramatc high airborne flip. We have over a thousand additional photos of this race so contact us if you are interested in a specific boat or scene.
